December update from Cr Brooke Patterson

Throughout the course of 2022, you may have attended an event across Southport from the CBD Sundown series. These have been running on the last Friday of every month, and have included:

Laneway Cabaret
Twilight Markets
Paint | Clay | Play (Bingo)
Roller Disco
Social Muscle Club
Stand-up in the Street

CBD Sundown has reported an amazing 21 000+ total attendances at the events, with highly positive feedback from survey respondents. Attendees not only are local to Southport but are coming from all over the Gold Coast!

A champion for our local businesses - CBD Sundown has engaged with 74 local traders, 24 local suppliers and 94 local artists. The future of CBD Sundown and the potential it brings to our CBD is going to continue to get bigger.

The CBD Sundown events for 2023 are already being set in motion! On Sunday 22 January 2023 from 3pm, Chinatown will come alive with a vibrant melting pot of colour, cuisine, celebration, and cultural entertainment to mark the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Rabbit. More information on this event will be posted to my Facebook page closer to the date.

Events like CBD Sundown highlight exactly what makes our CBD so special. It is an absolute pleasure to host these events in Division 6 and I highly recommend coming out and checking them out if you haven’t had the opportunity to do so already.
