For the last eight weeks, Councillors and City executives have been buried in budget discussions. There is nothing more important than respecting our rate payers’ money— delivering for the city now, and for our future. The 2024/25 City Budget was adopted by Council today, 7 June. We have honoured our commitment to keeping net rates and charges increases under inflation.

One of the first things I did when elected was introduce the Southport Community Consultative Committee (SCCC). The committee ran for many years until meetings stopped in 2022.
