Lunar New Year celebrations
Lunar New Year is fast approaching, and the City has plans right in the heart of Southport.
As part of the ongoing CBD Sundown Series, Lunar New Year will be celebrated on Saturday, 5 February 2022.
Gold Coast Chinatown will come alive with a vibrant melting pot of colour, cuisine, celebration, and cultural entertainment to mark the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Tiger.
Activities kick off mid-afternoon (4pm) until approximately 8pm on Davenport Street in Southport. There will be lion and dragon dancers every hour, a $5 Food Safari, and an outdoor movie screening of Kung Fu Panda 2 at 6.30pm and of course an impressive fireworks display!
2022 is the Year of the Tiger so, like this feisty feline, why not get your hunt on for the best $5 deals Southport has to offer? Launching on Saturday 5 February during the New Year festivities, the Food Safari will run until Saturday 12 February
Come on down and check it out and then kick on later and enjoy the nightlife of nearby venues in the Southport CBD.
